# 467 - How Great Thou
Unison prayer of confession To fear
you is the beginning of wisdom, O God, and to confess our sins can lead to
repentance. We acknowledge the wrongs we commit against neighbors, the remarks
that aim at tearing them down, the actions that exclude, the subtle and not so
subtle distinctions that “put them in their place.” Forgive us for our love of
comfort in a world that is hungry and thirsty, suffering and needy, and help us
to consciously make a decision to change our ways, through the support,
strength, and guidance of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, and in whose name
we offer this prayer. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon
Statement of Faith - A
Faith Statement This is the good news which we have received, on
which we stand, and by which we are saved, that Christ died for our sins
according to the scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the
third day, and that he appeared first to the women, then to Peter, and to the
twelve, and then to many faithful witnesses. We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God.Jesus Christ is the first and the last, the
beginning and the end; He is our Lord and our God. Amen.

Hymn # 341 – Blessed Assurance
Unison prayer of confession: Heavenly
Father, you lavish us with gracious welcome. Even when we ignore your love, you
continue to reach out to us, sending us every good and perfect gift, calling us
ever back into your presence.Yet we
take your nearness for granted; we are careless about the most precious
treasures, while consumed with things that are trivial. In your tender mercy,
forgive us.Melt our coldness of heart
and give us a new heart of abiding and passionate love for one another, as well
as for you, that our love may flourish in grateful response to the treasures of
love you have lavished upon us through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord and
Savior, in whose name we offer this prayer, Amen.
Assurance of Pardon
Statement of Faith - The Beatitudes
are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall
be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for
they shall inherit the earth. Blessed
are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be
satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for
they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the
peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’
sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all
kinds of evil against you falsely for my account.Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great
in heaven, for so men persecuted the prophets who were before you.
